Mme Beltrame-Ferritto, Mme Cianferro-Pericak, and Mme Raposo,French Teachers at St. John Henry Newman, organized and hosted an invitational virtual SJHN Catholic Education Week Prayer Contest in French with the support and participation of their students of French. Celebrating the Catholic Education Week theme of "IGNITING HOPE" or "ALLUMER LA FLAMME DE L'ESPERANCE" in French, their students wrote prayers in French that reflect on the many ways this important theme relates to their experiences as students of St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School. A French Prayer Contest Selection Committee selected a winning prayer from each of the aforementioned teacher's classes while granting "Honourable Distinction" to the other participants who in their own way celebrate "IGNITING HOPE" in a variety of creative ways. SJHN will feature each of the winning selections on our Web Page while the "Honourable Distinction" selections will be displayed on our Web Site throughout the month of May and June on our Web Site. "Felicitations" or "Congratulations" go out to Michela Lampignano, Marco Munisteri, Alyssa Clysdale, Isabella Monachino, Gabriel De Simone, and Darla Estayo for their 1st place French Prayer submissions. SJHN also celebrates the following students whose prayers earned "Honourable Distinction": Reagan Drew, Maximilian Kowalski, Connor McCarthy, Michaela Pitt, and Michael Romano from Mme Beltrame-Ferritto's classes; Giovanni Cuda, Larissa Ruggiero, Nina Maric, Michela Condari, Julia Sulug, and Julianna Commisso from Mme Cianferro-Pericak's classes; and Angela Adeyinka, Julia Di Marco, Sofia Ivankovic, Gabriella Maruszki, Korah Purnell, Jessica Vella, Brianna Volpini, Sydney Watson, Mia Cercone, Antonia Giannini, Jenaiyah Glassco, and Sienna Toffolon from Mme Raposo's classes.
