Recognizing that COVID-19 has created new demands for infrastructure investments, a new, time limited COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream (CVRIS) introduced under the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP) is providing up to $700 million in combined federal-provincial funding for education-related infrastructure projects.
School boards were invited to put forward proposals for projects that protect the health and wellbeing of students, staff and children in schools and co-located childcare facilities. Eligible projects include:
• retrofits, repairs and upgrades to school board facilities;
• COVID-19 response infrastructure (e.g. heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, new builds or renovations to enable physical distancing).
