St. John Henry Newman is proud to support the HWCDSB Keep Them Cozy Campaign, a winter clothing drive dedicated to helping individuals and families in need. This year, Newman is connecting the campaign with our Adopt a Family initiative so that all donations will directly support families within our own school community.
We are collecting gently used or new winter items, including hats, mitts, gloves, scarves, sweaters, winter coats, boots, and warm clothing. Families may also support the campaign by contributing through School Cash Online, sending a contribution to their child’s Period 1 class, or participating in our tap donation days.
Student Council will be leading the campaign through a Period 1 class competition, with totals calculated proportionally to class size. Items will be counted according to The Keeping Them Cozyguidelines, where hats, mitts, scarves, socks, and gloves count as one item, and jackets and snowpants count as five. Contributions will be converted at a rate of five dollars per item.
All winter items and contributions collected will remain at St. John Henry Newman and be used to support families through our Adopt a Family program. We thank our entire school community for their generosity and kindness in helping keep Newman families warm this winter.
