St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School

The 2025 water testing results show that St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School meets Ontario’s drinking water lead standard of 10 µg/L or below.

The SJHN community collected over 1,200 pairs of socks during Socktober—nearly double last year’s total—while supporting local outreach organizations and promoting the importance of giving back. In November, Kindness Week reinforced that “Kindness Kounts at SJHN” through school-wide activities that encouraged positive actions, community support, and everyday kindness.

St. John Henry Newman is supporting the HWCDSB Keep Them Cozy Campaign by collecting winter clothing and monetary donations to help families in need within our school community. All contributions will stay at Newman and be used through the Adopt a Family program, with Student Council leading a class competition to encourage participation.

Join us on Monday, November 17th for Grade 8 Parent Information Night at St. John Henry Newman CSS — student-led tours from 6:30–7:00 p.m. followed by an information session in the cafeteria at 7:00 p.m.; all are welcome to discover why Newman is a great place to learn, grow, and belong!

Join us on Tuesday, November 18th from 6:00–7:30 p.m. at the E.H. Mancinelli Centre in Grimsby for an information night about the Local 837 Construction Craft Worker and Concrete Finisher apprenticeship programs, including a facility tour and the chance to meet instructors and trainees.

St. John Henry Newman is offering a second semester Dual Credit course in partnership with Mohawk College focused on Automotive and Technology Studies. This hands-on program allows students to earn both a high school and college credit while gaining real-world experience in the skilled trades.
